Overview[]
The King Tank is the 5th and final boss in the Classic Campaign. It appears on Mission 100.
Throne Stage[]
In stage one, the King Tank sits on top of a throne. It summons tanks, similarly to the Commando Tank (Planes drop down crates with tanks with them). It also summons bombs that fall down from the sky. These stay on the ground for some time. To get it out of the throne, you need to place mines near the bombs, activate the mines using bullets to make the bombs hit the King Tank
Bossfight Stage[]
After you get it out of his throne, it behaves like most of the other bosses. It moves around, fires bullets, and can sometimes dash at you extremely fast.
Strategy[]
- If a tank crate falls near you, shoot it as soon as it lands to instantly destroy the tank inside
- If some bombs land close to each other, try to toss a mine between them to launch all of them at once with only one mine
- Focus on the tanks it summons, since they can easily become annoying
- If you can't reach a bomb before it explodes, simply ignore it
- King tank is painfully slow, but dont underestimate it as it has very high firepower
- King tank has several attacks that you can identify by listening to the charging sound it makes before attacking. Use this to know what it is going to do
- Try to save your boost for when it dashes towards you, since this attack is extremely dangerous
- Use the lamps in the room as cover for when it dashes since it cannot go through them, but keep in mind that it will destroy the lamps once it collides with them, so use them wisely
- Try to keep your distance with it, since its attacks can easily hit you
- Using mines against it is useless since King tank is practically immune to them
Trivia[]
- King tank along with the Cherry Tank are the only tanks that are able change their own theme under certain conditions (Cherry Tanks change their theme when their rage mode is activated, King Tank changes its theme when its second phase begins)
